Conjugated Linoleic Acid (cla) For Weight Loss?

I have started exercising and was recommended Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) as a supplement to assist in weight loss…it’s really quite expensive at £22 but the store rep swears by it.
I just wondered if anyone else is using it to help them lose weight and it if has really helped or if i am just wasting my time with another fad diet thing!
thanks!

What Is Cla (conjugated Lineloic Acid) And How Is It Beneficial To The Body?

Just wondering what this stuff is, how it works and how it benefits the body? Is it okay to take with a multivitamin supplement (Multibionta Probiotic) and a couple of other herbal supplements I am taking e.g. Sea Kelp?

Anyone Tried Cla (conjugated Linoleic Acid) Supplements And Did It Work?

Read it for yourself:
CLA Supplement Profilehttp://www.1fast400.com/i28_CLA.html
“For fat loss, the t10,c12 isomer is the important one, and the amount of this isomer present in studies in which significant fat loss was seen ranges from .5-2.5 g for 4-12 weeks (note that this is equivalent to about 2.5-12.5 g of CLA powder or 1.5-7.5 g of 30% t10,c12 CLA oil). More significant fat loss would be seen if the dosage was closer to that used in animal studies (which would be equivalent to upwards of 25 g of CLA oil daily [1]), but the risk of liver enlargement and insulin resistance will be proportionally increased, so this quantity is not recommended (nor is it economically feasible for most). It would be wiser to use a lower dose of CLA in conjunction with other fat loss agents, and monitor glucose and insulin levels and liver parameters if possible. Side effects reported in clinical trials include gastrointestinal discomfort and fatigue [4].”
If you are taking anything for health reason, but as a supplement, which means it is to supplement something else. In this case, it is your diet and food you eat, thus you need to put more effort on eating the right food as much as you find a magic supplement. My suggestion is ===> vegetables, and I tried before and vegetables worked the best.

What Are Some Negatives To Taking Conjugated Linoleic Acid Supplements? (cla)?

I have read a lot of benefits to this…from weightloss to anti-cancer fighting–like lowering risk for colon cancer. Occasionally I get an article with some negatives that contradict what I have read–for example with cholesterol. I read it lowers total cholesterol, then I will find one article that says is lowers HDL–the good cholesterol. Which you don’t want. Does anyone really know?
